The AHC Association Netherlands is the national patient organization of and for people with AHC and their immediate stakeholders.
The main goals are to promote research into the cause of AHC and an effective treatment method,
promoting the interests of people with AHC and providing information and information to patients,

OVER AHC
Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood (AHC) is een zeldzame neurologische aandoening, waarbij kinderen regelmatig tijdelijk verlammingsaanvallen van één of beide kanten van het lichaam krijgen. De verlamming treedt wisselend op aan één kant van het lichaam of aan het gehele lichaam en kan variëren van enkele minuten tot meerdere dagen. Een aanval gaat vaak gepaard met spraakverlies, verlaagd bewustzijn, spierverkrampingen, niet kunnen eten en drinken, ademhalingsstoornissen en veel pijn. Daarnaast gaat bij kinderen met een AHC de ontwikkeling trager dan bij leeftijdsgenoten zonder AHC. Ook hebben veel kinderen met AHC epilepsie.
